After a 10-year absence, Burger King is bringing back this fan favorite

CNN – After a decade of pleas from loyal Burger King customers, the fast-food chain is bringing back crown-shaped chicken nuggets.

The “fan favorite” nuggets were removed from menus in 2011. Since then, fans started a petition to bring them back, which garnered more than 2,000 signatures. Burger King’s Twitter also teases at their reappearance often.

However, they’re not coming back nationwide just yet: The crown-shaped nuggets are being sold at 25 locations around Miami for a limited time, at $1.49 for 10 nuggets, CNN reported. Burger King said fans should “stay tuned for additional information regarding a potential nationwide launch.”

The crown nuggets are made similarly to the chain’s regular nuggets, but the shape makes them “perfect for dipping,” the chain said.

Chicken prices have recently gone up as demand increases, partially because of the ongoing fried chicken sandwich wars. KFC recently admitted that keeping up with demand is its “main challenge” for its new sandwich.

The Burger King brand has been undergoing a makeover to combat lagging sales and to entice eaters to come back. Earlier this year, it unveiled a new logo and packaging that pays tribute to brand’s 64-year history.
