3-acre brush fire sparks in Golden Gate Estates

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A 3 acre brush fire sparked on 24th Avenue near DeSoto Boulevard in Golden Gate Estates on Thursday. The Florida Forest Service and Greater Naples fire units are responding to the fire. FFS officials have confirmed it is currently 90 percent contained. Crews are working to put water on the fire. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting fire crews. No evacuations are in place near this brush fire. This is a developing story. Firefighters respond to car fire in Punta Gorda

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Charlotte County firefighters battled a car fire on Highway 31 five miles south of Bermont Road Thursday morning. Highway 31 was closed for over an hour while crews worked to put out the fire and clean up, according to Charlotte County Fire and EMS. VIDEO: Police search for Fort Myers burglar with ‘unique walk’

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who they described as having a “unique walk.” The suspect can be seen on surveillance video on May 21 taking long, flailing strides after allegedly stealing from the Auto Repair Shop at 2445 Concorde Drive in Fort Myers.
