Forecast: Dry weather prevails for your Tuesday
*NBC2’S Fire Alert has been extended through Tuesday, May 18th.
Same forecast, different day.
We are in desperate need of rain as we once again have issued a Fire Alert for Southwest Florida. The lack of rain, low humidity, and breezy winds are all again feeding into our high brush fire risk, and until we get a significant increase in humidity or decent accumulation of rain, we are going to be talking about Fire Alerts and brush fires nearly every day.
Today, on top of the dry weather, we will have mainly sunny skies with high temperatures into the low 90s.
A very subtle uptick in humidity will bring in an isolated chance for showers Wednesday and Thursday, but it’s not enough to abate the dry conditions that have been taking over.
By the weekend, a strong area of high pressure off to our east will push in yet another drop in humidity, taking our rain chances back down. This will however make for a gorgeous weekend as it won’t be overly humid, and you can spend plenty of time outside.
Forecast solutions are keeping our dry conditions in place until the end of the month, so be prepared to water your lawns and plants for at least the next week to week and a half.
Count on NBC2 to update you on when rainy season decides to show up!
