Forecast: Hot, steamy weekend with isolated storms

The good news is we’ve got some rain back in the forecast today. The bad news is for those who could really use more rain, our rain chances will stay fairly isolated and hit-or-miss.

This morning, expect a warm, steamy start with sunshine and temperatures approaching 90 by the lunch hour.

A few spots of rain will bubble up over Lee, Collier and Charlotte County early in the afternoon, but as winds shift from west to east, the storms that form will favor inland areas during the mid to late afternoon.

If you have evening plans outdoors, a few showers will still be possible after sunset, and we’ll see the opportunity for more rain overnight into early Saturday with some rain moving in from the Gulf of Mexico.

This weekend, rain coverage will continue to stay in the isolated category, but the timing of the rain will change as our winds flow in from the gulf.

Plan on the chance for some isolated rain to wash ashore from the gulf during the morning hour, but we’ll mainly see inland storms during the afternoon.

Our weekend weather will stay warm, toasty and steamy with highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 70s.
