Forecast: Rain starts early Friday

Don’t get caught off guard this morning! The rain machine will get turned on a bit earlier today with scattered showers possible during the morning hours across Lee, Collier, and Charlotte County.

The morning won’t be a washout, but some passing showers and storms will be possible before the lunch hour, and we’ll see more scattered rain through the afternoon.

The highest rain chances during the afternoon will be a little deeper inland, particularly east of I-75.

A few areas of rain will linger into the evening, but most areas will be dry after 8 p.m.

With the rain starting earlier today, temperatures won’t be quite as hot with most neighborhoods staying in the mid-to-upper 80s today.

Plan on some cloudy periods through the day along with some sunnier spells between any passing showers.

This weekend, we’ll enjoy more dry time in the morning with increasing sunshine, but watch out for some scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon both Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures will heat up into the weekend with highs bouncing back into the low to mid-90s as nighttime temperatures cool off into the mid-70s.
