Forecast: Summer heat returns, but no summer storms…yet
Make sure to look west if you’re out before sunrise this morning! You might be able to catch a glimpse of this morning’s supermoon eclipse, which will end right around 6:35 this morning.
After a pretty comfortable and quiet morning, plan another scorcher this afternoon as high temps touch the mid-90s in most areas. The heat combined with the low humidity will keep the fire danger very high across Southwest Florida, so be cautious and no outdoor burning.
Rain chances will be slim to none today, but we’ll finally get some better rain opportunities by Memorial Day weekend as we ease into the rainy season.
Gradually, higher humidity values should start sneaking back into the area by the weekend, which means it’ll start to feel and look more like summer with some afternoon storms and highs in the lower 90s.
