Lee County vaccinations starting back up at Edison Mall

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Vaccinations are starting back up in Lee County today, June 3.

People who made an appointment to get their first or second doses of the coronavirus vaccine will get their shot at Edison Mall.

Vaccinations will be administered at the Edison Mall location through Friday, June 18.

Local health officials said the vaccine is working and don’t expect to see a spike in cases like last year.

Half of the United States have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with about 40 percent of Americans being fully vaccinated.

Health care providers are administering more than a million doses of the vaccine everyday. At this rate, almost everyone could get a shot this year. But no vaccine has been authorized for children under 12.

Even with millions of Americans having traveled over the weekend, medical experts said that they’re not worried about seeing more COVID-19 cases in the weeks ahead.
