Man in custody after shooting at Charlotte County RV park

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A man is in custody after a shooting at a Charlotte County RV park early Saturday morning.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said James W. Grisham was placed in cuffs after they responded to the shooting at Harbor Lakes RV Resort, 3737 El Jobean Road. The gunshot call came in at 12:06 a.m.

Two citizens in the RV park who saw Grisham with a gun held him down until Charlotte County deputies arrived on scene. A caller who saw the suspect with a gun gave updates to the 911 center.

Grisham was shot with a taser by one of the deputies because he wasn’t complying, according to CCSO.

Investigators confirmed no one was injured by the shots that were fired. The investigation is ongoing.
