Miami man found guilty of running red light, killing North Fort Myers woman
LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami man was found guilty of vehicular homicide on Thursday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
On June 27, 2018, 33-year-old Yosbel Regalado Fernandez ran a red light and slammed into another car. The light had already been red for seven seconds when Fernandez drove a tractor-trailer through the US-41 intersection, officials said.
The 60-year-old North Fort Myers woman driving the other car was killed in the crash, officials said.
The jury deliberated for approximately two hours following a three-day trial in Fort Myers.
Hernandez’s sentencing is scheduled for August 6.
