NCH Community Blood Center in urgent need of donations

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – The blood supply at the NCH Community Blood Center is critically low and in urgent need of donations.

Donors are needed to quickly replenish inventories for types A-, O-, & O+. The Community Blood Center supplies blood to area hospitals.

To donate, visit the Community Blood Center in Naples, located at 11190 Health Park Blvd at the NCH North Naples Hospital near the Brookdale entrance. You can donate on Thursday, Friday & Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Community Blood Center is closed Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The minimum age to donate blood is 16 with a parent present. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, should eat prior to giving blood, and be well hydrated.

A mobile blood drive event is happening at the Pelican Landing community on Wednesday, June 9.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
