Need your COVID-19 shot? Lee Health is welcoming walk-ins

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — With Memorial Day and Independence Day right around the corner, doctors in our community are saying that now is a very important time to get vaccinated.

Lee Health is offering 1,300 COVID-19 vaccine appointments this week. Starting today, May 18, walk-ins will be welcomed at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Although, appointments are recommended.

Anyone over 12-years-old can get their shot at Lee Health. People under 18-years-old will need a parent or legal guardian with them at their appointment.

Walk-ins will be accepted at the hospital from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

“What we want to do is try to get as many people as we can vaccinated so we don’t have another surge after the holidays of Memorial Day and Fourth of July,” Larry Antonucci, President and CEO of Lee Health said. “The freedom to remove your mask really is contingent on you getting vaccinated.”
