Neighbor caught watching Lee County mother & daughter shower

LEE COUNTY, Fla – A Fort Myers man is accused of using a phone to spy on his neighbor as she showered with her young daughter.

The woman spotted a red phone propped up in her master shower window in their home off McGregor Boulevard, according to deputies.

She screamed for her husband, who ran out of the house looking for the suspect, with the help of other neighbors.

Lee County deputies arrived and found footprints leading from near the bathroom window. A short time later, they found Anthony Cardinale.

Cardinale confessed he was watching the woman and her daughter, and told deputies he put a gun in his mouth, contemplating taking his own life. The thought of his own wife and daughter kept him from pulling the trigger, according to investigators.

Cardinale admitted he’d been smoking weed that night, and “made the biggest mistake of his life.” He is facing a video voyeurism charge. His bond has not yet been set.
