New York Mets player “doing fine” after getting hit in the face by 94 MPH pitch

ATLANTA, Ga. / CNN — New York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar said he’s doing fine after he was hit in the nose by a 94 mph fastball during Monday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.

“Thanks to everyone that has reached out! Scary moment but I’m doing fine,” Pillar wrote on Twitter.

The Mets emerged victorious, beating the Braves 3-1 in Atlanta’s Truist Park.

Pillar was hit in the seventh inning by Braves pitcher Jacob Webb. Video shows Webb throw the pitch and Pillar falling to the ground in pain with blood coming out of his nose.

Pillar walked off the field and was taken to a nearby hospital for a CT scan, the Mets tweeted.

“Thinking of our guy,” the team wrote.
