BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Old Greyhound Race track in Bonita Springs may be stripped down to its bones, but fire crews are finding lessons in what’s left of the track. “More than anything it’s having the opportunity to train at a venue like this, this is as real as it gets,” said Shane Sibert, SWFL Urban Search & Rescue Program Manager. BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.– The latest samples on Red Tide show low to high concentrations up and down the Southwest Florida coastline, according to officials. Bear hit and killed on I-75 near Bonita Beach Road

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – A bear was hit and killed on northbound I-75 near Bonita Beach Road on Friday morning. Officials could be seen pulling the bear to the side of the road. The 23-year-old man driving was not injured in the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The car was traveling down the road when a 200-pound bear tried to cross the interstate, according to FHP. The bear died at the scene.
