CAPE CORAL, Fla. — After months of delays and frustrated residents, Waste Pro operations in Cape Coral are finally getting back on schedule. City officials have decided to shutdown the drop-off sites that were created to help take a load off of Waste Pro, who was understaffed. Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, are your last days to drop-off trash at the remaining two locations at Cultural Park and City Hall. City of Cape Coral discussing plan to prevent blue-green algae in waterways

CAPE CORAL, Fla.– The City of Cape Coral is continuing to work on preventing blue-green algae in Cape Coral waterways. The City’s plan will reactivate the bubble curtain in the Mandolin Canal, adding additional bubble curtains in priority canals. Record number of people going to Cape COVID testing site

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Even with COVID-19 cases going down, the Curative testing site in Cape Coral has been seeing a record number of people. With the testing site at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers closed, more people have been going to the site in Cape Coral, located at 1020 Cultural Park Blvd, across from City Hall. About two weeks ago, the Cape Curative site was averaging 150 people. Now, they’re seeing about 250 people per day. Cape Coral financial advisor sentenced for over $1 million fraud

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A former financial advisor in Cape Coral was sentenced to five years in prison for defrauding clients. David Rockwell, 45, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for wire and bank fraud, according to the Department of Justice. The court also entered a money judgment of $1,018,000, the proceeds of his wire and bank fraud. Rockwell pleaded guilty on Jan. 14. Rockwell managed investment and retirement accounts for his clients, according to court documents. Prosecutors said he started defrauding clients and misappropriating his clients’ funds for his own purpose....

Cyclist & SUV collide in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A SUV and a bicyclist crashed on SW 3rd Street in Cape Coral Wednesday morning. NBC2 crews arrived to the scene near Nicholas Parkway and saw an SUV and bicycle at the scene of the crash. Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department are investigating the crash. CAPE CORAL, Fla. – One man’s attempt to steal plywood from a home construction site, didn’t go so well after being caught by a couple driving by. “We know it’s a hot commodity right now plywood’s like Gold!” said Debbie Cooper. CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Neighbors in North West Cape Coral found a baby gator floating in the canal with its head and tail cut off. The man who found it said it didn’t look like the gator was attacked by another animal. It looked like the gator was cut with a sharp object like a knife.
