One injured in Cape Coral shooting

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – One person was injured in a shooting over the weekend, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Santa Barbra Centre on Hancock Bridge Parkway sometime between late Friday and early Saturday, investigators said. One injured in Cape Coral rollover crash

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – At least one person was injured in a rollover crash just west of the intersection of Skyline Boulevard South & Mohawk Parkway in Cape Coral Sunday. A woman was driving a Toyota Sedan on Mohawk Parkway around 9:30 a.m. when she lost control, crossed lanes of traffic and crashed into a tree, officials said. The tree broke in half due to the crash. Cape Coral rollover crash sends man to hospital, child injured

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A man was rushed to the hospital after flipping his SUV on Hancock Bridge Parkway Wednesday afternoon. The man was driving east on Hancock with a juvenile passenger when he went to change lanes, hitting a van, according to Cape Coral police. The man lost control of his SUV, hit the median, flipped the SUV, then hit a tree, traveling into oncoming traffic, police said. The driver is facing life-threatening injuries. Boater dies after crashing into Cape Coral dock

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A boater died Wednesday afternoon after crashing into a dock at Alhambra Lake in Cape Coral. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. when an 18-foot pontoon boat crashed into a dock causing the driver to be thrown from the vessel. EMS crews responded to the scene and confirmed the boater died from their injuries. FWC is still investigating the crash. Waste Pro to update Cape Coral on trash pickup efficiency

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Waste Pro will be updating Cape Coral officials on its trash pickup efforts on Wednesday. The company missed nearly 1,200 pickups last month, but the city said that calls for missed pickups have since subsided. Trash pick up numbers for May are still in the works. Waste Pro blamed their bout of missed pick-ups on a lack of employees, so now they’re trying to hire more drivers to fix the mess that clogged curbs across the city. Cape Coral woman accused of crashing car into home

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A Cape Coral woman is accused of crashing into a Cape Coral home Saturday morning. Cape Coral officials prepare for blue-green algae in waterways

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – With blue-green algae appearing in some Southwest Florida waterways, the City of Cape Coral is preparing with a plan.  “Our hope is to get ahead of this prior to it coming into our canals,” said Cape Coral City Councilor Jennifer Nelson.  The plan has several parts.
