PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Students aged 12 to 17 will be able to get vaccinated at Port Charlotte Middle School on Saturday. The Charlotte County Department of Health is offering vaccinations for students 12 to 17 on Saturday, May 22, at Port Charlotte Middle School from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only Charlotte County Public School students will be able to get a shot. LABELLE, Fla. – LaBelle City Hall closed Thursday after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. City Hall closed out of an abundance of caution at around 12 p.m., LaBelle’s City FInance Director Ron Zimmerly confirmed. The city said they will open back up on Monday, May 24. DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. [WPTV] – An infant under died from coronavirus in DeSoto County, the Florida Department of Health reported Tuesday. The agency’s county report lists the child, with no sex given, as from DeSoto County, a population of 184,945. Ninety-five people have died from the virus in the county. Twelve juveniles have died from COVID-19, according to the DOH. Before the infant’s death, a 4-year-old girl from Hardee County was the youngest reported death in the state. She passed away in March.
