ESTERO, Fla. – The Village of Estero is looking to join Lee County and Bonita Springs in passing a pedestrian safety ordinance that would crack down on panhandling. The ordinance would be nearly identical to ones passed in Lee County and Bonita Springs. It would ban people from lingering in medians and crosswalks. It would also prevent any drivers from interacting with a pedestrian on village maintained roads. The village held its first reading of the ordinance on Wednesday. ESTERO, Fla. – A 28-year-old Estero man was sentenced to seven years in federal prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to child porn charges in 2019. Kyle O’Brien was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release after the FBI, joined by other agencies, swarmed a unit at the Coastal Village Apartments in Estero to serve a search warrant in April 2019, according to court documents.
