The good news is we’ve got some rain back in the forecast today. The bad news is for those who could really use more rain, our rain chances will stay fairly isolated and hit-or-miss.  This morning, expect a warm, steamy start with sunshine and temperatures approaching 90 by the lunch hour.  A few spots of rain will bubble up over Lee, Collier and Charlotte County early in the afternoon, but as winds shift from west to east, the storms that form will favor inland areas during the mid to late afternoon.  If you have evening plans outdoors, a few showers will still be possible...

We’ve got the summer heat, but our summertime storms will be fairly limited today with just a few isolated showers and storms developing by the mid to late afternoon. The warm trend continues as highs soar to the mid-90s today with overnight lows gradually falling into the 70s. A brief break from the typical rainy season pattern is ahead for the start of the week. The sea breeze is helping to kick off scattered thunderstorms this evening. Because of the relatively light south and southeast winds in place, showers, downpours and storms forming over the next few hours will be slow to move, meaning much like yesterday some locally heavy rain may quickly stack up in areas where rain develops.
