Former Fort Myers Councilwoman passes away at 89
FORT MYERS, Fla.– Former Fort Myers Councilwoman, Dr. Ann Elizabeth Murphy Knight, died at 89-years-old on May 26. Knight was an educator for over 40 years. The S.T.A.R.S. Complex expansion, located on Edison Avenue, was has been renamed in dedication to Knight. Dr. Knight, an educator and long-serving member of the Fort Myers City Council, took on juvenile crime in the city and helped improve childhood education.
