COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A fire destroyed a home in Golden Gate Estates and the family needs the community’s help to recover. The family lost everything when the raging flames engulfed their home on 6th Avenue Southeast around 11 p.m. on Friday. Two people were inside the house and got out safe, but a dog named ‘Blue’ did not make it out. The family needs donations since nothing was salvageable from the rubble. FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – An electrical hazard caused a small home fire on Dundee Road in Fort Myers Beach on Wednesday, officials said. Crews responded to the home at 10:30 a.m. to respond to the hazard, which ended up being a fire, according to the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department. The home sustained minimal damage because of a Residential Fire Sprinkler System the owners installed during a home renovation a few years back, crews said. No one was injured, and the homeowners’ pets were safely located.

ESTERO, Fla. — Lee County EMS and Estero Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of a house fire in Estero. A fire erupted in a home on Tanglewood Lane, officials said. Because there weren’t any fire hydrants around, fire crews had to run 2,000 feet of fire hose out to the home, the Estero Fire Rescue Battalion Chief said. Information about what caused the fire or extent of damage is not known. No injuries have been reported. It’s not known if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire.

The fire ignited around 3 a.m. inside a home on Duera Mae Drive in Harlem Heights. Three people were inside the home when the fire broke out and they made it outside safely.
