Troopers investigating fatal Alligator Alley crash

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person died in a crash on southbound I-75 near mile marker 39, officials said. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol have shutdown all southbound lanes and one northbound lane of I-75 in West Broward County. Avoid the area and use an alternate route as troopers investigate the crash. Additional information about what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved is not known. Pedestrian hit by dump truck in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A Port Charlotte man was killed after being hit by a dump truck on Cochran Boulevard near US 41 Saturday afternoon. The 74-year-old pedestrian was riding a motorized tricycle when the crash happened, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The dump truck, driven by a 42-year-old Port Charlotte man, was going west on Cochran Boulevard, approaching a green traffic signal at the intersection. The pedestrian was riding south on the shoulder of US 41. Troopers said he tried to make a right turn onto southbound Cochran Boulevard. The dump truck then hit the pedestrian....

Citizens help remove people from flipped car on SR 82 in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. – One person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash on SR 82 and Buckingham Road in Fort Myers on Saturday. The Fort Myers Police Department said traffic was down to one lane on SR-82 north. Officers said no one was seriously injured, but one was taken to the hospital. At least three cars were involved in the crash. Citizens stopped to help lift the car that flipped on SR 82 to help everyone get out of the car, according to Fort Myers police.
