Two green sea turtles released after recovering from red tide poisoning
SANIBEL, Fla. – Two juvenile green sea turtles have been recovering at a local wildlife hospital over the past few weeks.
The turtles were rescued near Everglades City with suspected red tide poisoning, according to the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation. The turtles were released back into the water.
SCCF said its monitoring five green sea turtle nests on Sanibel and 330 loggerhead nests on both islands.
