Three hawk nestlings released after recovering at CROW

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Three nestling red-shouldered hawks were released back into the wild after being admitting to a Sanibel wildlife hospital. The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife said two of the nestlings were found in a parking lot. Veterinarians said they were healthy babies but were underweight. CROW said it was likely their home was destroyed. In just the few short weeks the nestlings were at CROW, they grew into strong juvenile hawks! Fisher-Price has recalled models of its baby soothers and gliders after the deaths of four infants who were reportedly left on their backs unrestrained and later found on their stomachs. A federal judge overturned California’s longtime ban on assault weapons on Friday in a ruling that likened the AR-15 to a Swiss Army knife. Assault weapons have been banned in California since 1989, according to the ruling. The law has been updated several times since it was originally passed, CNN reports. Swatting call leads to deputies swarming North Naples home

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A Swatting call led to a large response by first responders at a North Naples home on Saturday. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident at the home on Autumn Haze Drive was related to a swatting call. Numerous deputies swarmed the home along with fire and EMS crews. Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell facing child endangerment charges

NBC NEWS – Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell was charged in Ohio with attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to children, online court records show. Bell, whose real first name is Jared, pleaded not guilty to both charges, NBC News reports. He is scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing on June 23. Bond was set at $2,500, which Bell posted. Fire engulfs Golden Gate Estates home

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A fire fully engulfed a Golden Gate Estates home on 6th Avenue South late Friday evening. North Collier and Greater Naples Fire crews responded to the home fire. Witnesses on scene said two people made it out of the home uninjured. A dog died and another one was rescued by firefighters, according to witnesses. Passenger tries to breach cockpit on Delta flight

A passenger attempted to breach the cockpit of a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Nashville on Friday, forcing the plane to make an emergency stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to officials. I-75 crash in Lee County leaves two injured

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A crash on I-75 near Corkscrew Road in Lee County left two injured, Florida Highway Patrol troopers confirmed. A pickup truck driver and a woman in the truck had minor injuries after the crash. Troopers said the pickup truck was in an adjacent lane to another car driving south on I-75 in the area.
