Driver seriously injured after dump truck flips on SR 82 in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A driver was seriously injured after a dump truck hauling gravel flipped on SR 82 in Collier County Thursday morning. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed SR 82 is closed in both directions near Gator Slough Road due to the rollover crash. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and said troopers believe the dump truck was the one vehicle involved. Collier officials urging the use of bear-resistant trash cans as populations grow

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Bears are on the move and have appeared all over Southwest Florida this week. Florida’s black bear population continues to grow. There are an estimated 1,000 bears in South Florida living in the conservation areas of Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Plane crashes near Alligator Alley in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A plane went down near Interstate 75 in Collier County, officials said. Two people were on board the single-engine plane that crashed two miles south of I-75 near mile marker 55, according to Greater Naples Fire Rescue officials. The fate of a new Collier County town will be decided tomorrow

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The fate of three proposed villages making up one town in rural Collier County could be decided on June 8. County Commissioners will vote on the future of the Longwater and Bellmar Villages at a 9 a.m. meeting. Man in custody after Collier County I-75 rollover crash

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 in Collier County on Thursday night, officials said. Deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and rescue crews with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue responded to the crash near mile marker 107 on southbound I-75 just after 11 p.m. The driver ran from the crash scene and was later found at a Chase Bank in the Crossroads Market Plaza not too far from the crash. Student driver critically injures father during driving lesson

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 65-year-old Naples man is in critical condition after an accident while teaching his son how to drive, officials said. The man was teaching his 34-year-old son from Colombia how to drive, specifically how to park, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
