Pickup truck bursts into flames on Cape Coral roadway

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Fire crews were able to contain a vehicle fire that stopped all southbound traffic on Del Prado Boulevard on Monday evening.

The fire erupted around 4:30 p.m. and rescue crews rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire with foam.

Firefighting foam is a blanketing and cooling agent that not only extinguishes flames, but also minimizes chemical vapors that firefighters come in contact with while on the job.

It’s not known what started the fire, but no injuries have been reported.
