‘Critically low’ supply: Lee Health seeks blood donations

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The home of the region’s only trauma center is in desperate need of blood. According to Lee Health, its centers are in urgent need of donors, as blood supplies are “critically low.” Lee Health requires approximately 800 units of blood per week and supplies blood and blood products in the trauma center, to treat cancer patients, premature babies, anemia and a variety of other conditions. Anyone over the age of 16 can get a COVID-19 vaccine at Lee Health

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Anyone who is over 16 years old can receive a COVID-19 vaccine at Lee Health, the health system announced on Friday. Lee Health recently received a shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which is approved for use in those 16 and older. Lee Health expects a surge in COVID19 vaccine supply

LEE COUNTY, Fla.– Lee Health officials held a press conference on Friday morning about the COVID-19 vaccine. The President and CEO of Lee Health, Dr. Larry Antonucci, stressed the importance of people getting their shot. Dr. Antonucci said they are seeing younger people with COVID-19.
