Attention shoppers: Costco is bringing back free samples

CNN – Nothing enforces a return to normalcy like free samples. Costco is set to begin “a phased return to full sampling” early next month after a 14-month hiatus, the warehouse chain announced. Roughly 170 US locations will bring back food samples in the first week of June with “most of the remaining locations” returning toward the end of June, said Costco Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti on Thursday’s earning call. Zoo Tampa investigates 12 stingray deaths

TAMPA, Fla. [WFLA] – Twelve stingrays died at ZooTampa at Lowry Park this week, according to officials. The zoo announced the deaths on Facebook Thursday night, noting that an investigation is underway. “It’s with heavy hearts we share that today ZooTampa lost 12 residents of Stingray Bay,” the post said. The zoo’s animal care and veterinary teams are examining all of the mechanical equipment involved to figure out what happened, according to the post. Man in custody after Collier County I-75 rollover crash

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 in Collier County on Thursday night, officials said. Deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and rescue crews with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue responded to the crash near mile marker 107 on southbound I-75 just after 11 p.m. The driver ran from the crash scene and was later found at a Chase Bank in the Crossroads Market Plaza not too far from the crash. At least one injured in Lehigh Acres canal crash

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — At least one person was injured when a sport utility vehicle crashed into a canal in Lehigh Acres early Friday morning. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash. NBC2 crews at the scene said the SUV that crashed into a canal near Sunshine Boulevard North and Nancy Drive was sinking into the water and had bubbles coming up from under the vehicle. The SUV was headed the wrong direction on Sunshine Boulevard before it ended up in the canal and at least one person was injured, troopers said.
