Fort Myers man suffered severe burns on his feet from hot asphalt
FORT MYERS, FLA.– A Fort Myers man got an unfortunate reminder of how hot asphalt can get around Florida in the summer when he suffered severe burns on his feet. Rob Whyte was preparing to step in the water to dock his boat at the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp in Lee County earlier this month after a fishing tournament. To keep everything dry, he removed his shoes and socks then left them on the boat. He said his grave mistake came when he forgot where he parked his truck. He found himself standing in the middle of the parking lot with nowhere to go while his toes toasted....
