Edison & Ford Winter Estates propose pedestrian safety measures for McGregor Blvd

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Edison and Ford Winter Estates sent a 17-page letter to the City of Fort Myers to keep pedestrians safe while crossing McGregor Blvd.  “The Edison has requested several issues to be considered. Clewiston High School senior surprises crowd with generosity at graduation

CLEWISTON, Fla.– Annette Blanco made the decision seconds after she heard her name called from the stage.  At her graduation from Clewiston High School, she won her choice of either a new car or $10,000- the prizes were part of a raffle hosted by a local car dealership for students who excelled in school. CLEWISTON, Fla. — The principal who was caught on camera paddling a student in April has filed a complaint against the child’s mother. Fried faces financial scrutiny days after announcing run for Florida governor

Less than 24 hours after Commissioner of Agriculture Democrat Nikki Fried filed to run for governor, a Republican senator wants to dig into her finances. That senator is chairman of the Republican Party Joe Gruters.  He claims Fried earned far more than she first reported. Manatees dying at an alarming rate in Florida

NBC News — Florida’s manatees are dying at unusually high rates this year, and experts said the sustained loss of a key food source is to blame. Every year Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers put out a report showing how many Manatees died, and how they were killed.  FWC’s most recent report, which spans Jan. 1 to May 28, recorded 761 manatee deaths in 2021. Dognapper walks out of Fort Myers pet store with puppy hidden under his shirt

FORT MYERS, Fla.–Fort Myers police are searching for a man who stole a 9-week-old Shih Tzu. According to officials, the man walked into the Cleveland Avenue Pet Kingdom on Saturday evening. He then stuffed the puppy under his shirt and walked back out of the store. Police describe the dognapper as white with tattoos on his arms and a large build. He was last seen in a blue Florida Gator’s hat and a green shirt. He could be driving a white sedan with a paper tag, according to authorities.
