Crews battle Englewood mobile home fire

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – A mobile home in Englewood was ablaze on Tuesday morning, according to the Englewood Area Fire Control District. The fire was fully involved when crews arrived at the scene on Winchester Avenue, officials said. The home was unoccupied at the time, and no one was injured in the fire, crews said. Moderna COVID-19 vaccine safe for children ages 12 to 17, company says

CNN – Moderna appears to be safe and effective in adolescents, the company said on Tuesday. In a Phase 2/3 trial of 3,732 children ages 12 to 17 in the United States, blood tests showed that the vaccine produced an immune response that was equivalent to earlier findings in adults, CNN reported. While the trial did not specifically look at efficacy, initial observations showed that none of the children got sick with COVID-19 starting 14 days after their second dose. COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Fire crews with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District & Florida Forest Service Caloosahatchee District Field District were fighting a fire on 16th Avenue NW just west of Wilson Boulevard West on Monday evening. Pickup truck bursts into flames on Cape Coral roadway

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Fire crews were able to contain a vehicle fire that stopped all southbound traffic on Del Prado Boulevard on Monday evening. The fire erupted around 4:30 p.m. and rescue crews rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire with foam. Firefighting foam is a blanketing and cooling agent that not only extinguishes flames, but also minimizes chemical vapors that firefighters come in contact with while on the job. WATCH: Cars driving nose to bumper on Fort Myers highway

FORT MYERS, Fla.– An interesting tow job caught the attention of drivers on Colonial Boulevard over the weekend. Pandemic shuts down production causing AC shortage

FORT MYERS, Fla. — During the height of the pandemic in 2020, HVAC production lines shut down.  “Before, we would have a whole list of options for our customers,” said Gorden Durant with Fort Myers-based Island Aire. “Now, with shortages and price increases, we’re seeing the options are decreasing and the prices are increasing.” AC prices are skyrocketing.  In 2020, a middle of the road unit would run you about $6,500. So far in 2021, prices have risen 15% already.
