FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Fort Myers police officer is back on leave following allegations of misconduct. The Fort Myers Police Department said an internal investigation has started Wednesday into misconduct allegations committed by Officer Jason Jackson. Man accused of torching Lehigh Family Dollar won’t face charges

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – The man accused of torching a Lehigh Acres Family Dollar in February won’t face charges for the crime. The State Attorney’s Office said there is not enough evidence to charge Josue Vazquez-Reyes with crimes related to the fire, which investigators said was the result of arson. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A man’s prosthetic leg was stolen after he was hit by a car in St. Petersburg on Monday. The leg has since been located. A tip was called in to the St. Petersburg police with information on where to find the prosthetic. Officers found the leg hidden behind a laundromat. Two sea turtles being treated at CROW on Sanibel

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Two sea turtles are in recovery at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel. A green sea turtle was rescued on May 21 after it was found floating and suffering from symptoms of red tide. Wildlife experts said the turtle also had a shell deformity that could have been the result of a birth defect or past trauma. Three hawk nestlings released after recovering at CROW

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Three nestling red-shouldered hawks were released back into the wild after being admitting to a Sanibel wildlife hospital. The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife said two of the nestlings were found in a parking lot. Veterinarians said they were healthy babies but were underweight. NBC NEWS – Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell was charged in Ohio with attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to children, online court records show.
