LEE COUNTY, Fla.– The Lee County Board of Commissioners will vote if they will accept different state and federal grants on the morning of June 15. Lee County officials are set to accept over $3 million dollars for homelessness relief. All of the funds will go towards housing and resources for homeless citizens in the county. The money must be used by June 30, 2022.

FORT MYERS, FLA.– A Fort Myers man got an unfortunate reminder of how hot asphalt can get around Florida in the summer when he suffered severe burns on his feet. LEE COUNTY, Fla – A Fort Myers man is accused of using a phone to spy on his neighbor as she showered with her young daughter. The woman spotted a red phone propped up in her master shower window in their home off McGregor Boulevard, according to deputies. LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Lee County confirmed a contract with a vendor that could respond to algae blooms if they get bad this year is expected to go before the board of commissioners next month. In 2018, the county partnered with AECOM for a pilot program. Crews launched machines into about a dozen canals hit hard by algae in North Fort Myers and Cape Coral. LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A child was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car on Eighth Avenue in Pine Manor Thursday. Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the child was seriously injured. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A man stole someone’s credit card and spent over $1,400 at a local gas station and Walmart on Wednesday. Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said they are looking for the man involved in the credit card fraud and grant theft case. The suspect stole the victim’s credit card at an Olive Garden in Cape Coral. Crime Stoppers said fraudulent transactions were made at RaceTrac in North Fort Myers and the Walmart on Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.
