MARCO ISLAND, Fla.– A plane was caught on video getting close to the beach and buildings near Marco Island.  According to Naples Control Tower officials, planes must be 1,000 feet over structures or people in populated areas. Over the water on the other hand, there isn’t a limit. When someone breaks the rules, things are then handed over to the FAA. President and First Lady Biden release tax returns, continuing tradition

NBC NEWS— President and First Lady Biden released their 2020 tax returns on Monday. In a statement announcing their release, the White House said Biden was “continuing an almost uninterrupted tradition.” The statement noted that Biden has now released 23 years of his tax returns, NBC News reported. The Biden’s made a little over $600,000 in 2020 and paid $157,414 in federal income tax, according to the released return. They also paid $28,794 in income tax on their Delaware home. Naples man acquitted on kidnapping and sexual abuse charges

NAPLES, Fla.– A Naples man was acquitted by a federal jury on kidnapping and abusive sexual contact, on Monday. Cody Donavan Smith was originally indicted in March of 2020 by a federal grand jury, according to officials. The initial trial lasted for four days. FORT MYERS, Fla. — A discussion to combine law enforcement agencies in Fort Myers brought dozens of people to speak in support of keeping the Fort Myers Police Department as it is. Naples Park trees to be removed for infrastructure repairs

NAPLES, Fla. – Trees in Naples Park are soon getting the axe due to infrastructure repairs. Collier County Public Utilities continues to revamp the neighborhood’s infrastructure by replacing water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. In some areas, pipes are over 50 years old.  The project began in 2015. Its new phase to revamp 108th Ave N and 109th Ave N started in late April. FORT MYERS, Fla.– Blue-green algae is back with a vengeance.   “The algae is thriving because the conditions are just right for them,” said FGCU Water School Professor, Barry Rosen. CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Officers are searching for a man that went missing in Cape Coral on Monday afternoon. Russel Andrew Devane, 31, was last seen Monday around 1:30 driving a 2013 brown Dodge Ram with Florida Handicap tag ZK15R.
