CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The 2021 burrowing owl census in Cape Coral was completed over the weekend. More than 100 volunteers took time out of their day to do their part on Saturday. The results of the census are still being calculated, but preliminary numbers reveal that more than 2,000 owls were counted, according to the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife. Two injured in four-car crash on Daniels Parkway

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Four vehicles, including a school bus, collided on Daniels Parkway near Palomino Lane on Wednesday morning. A box truck, van, SUV, and school bus were involved in the crash that briefly shut down eastbound traffic on Daniels Parkway. One lane of Daniels Parkway has been reopened. The driver of the van was seriously injured and the SUV driver was also injured. Both were taken to a nearby hospital. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – The man accused of torching a Lehigh Acres Family Dollar in February won’t face charges for the crime. The State Attorney’s Office said there is not enough evidence to charge Josue Vazquez-Reyes with crimes related to the fire, which investigators said was the result of arson. Florida DEO cancels contract with Titan Technologies

FLORIDA – Titan Technologies confirmed Tuesday the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has canceled its contract with the company. Titan Technologies, a call center company, was hired by the DEO to help people with their unemployment claims.
