Help rename LCSO’s adorable new member of the animal cruelty task force

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputy Chance has a sister! The Lee County Sheriff’s Office introduced its newest and most adorable member of the animal cruelty task force on Monday during a Facebook Live. Formerly named Sky, the dog was rescued and rehabilitated at the Gulf Coast Humane Society and then taken in by LCSO. Because of the conditions that the dog was living in, she had to have one of her legs amputated. Now, the sheriff’s office is asking the community for help in renaming her. Motorcyclist rushed to hospital after Fort Myers crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A crash involving a car and a motorcycle blocked off a part of Cleveland Avenue for several hours on Sunday night. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. between Moreno Avenue and Ricardo Avenue, according to the Fort Myers Police Department. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, police said. Shooting investigation underway in Cape Coral

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — One person was injured in a shooting at 2045 N. Beach Road on Saturday night, officials said. Deputies with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting near the Lock ‘N Key Restaurant in Englewood. Pedestrian hit by dump truck in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – A Port Charlotte man was killed after being hit by a dump truck on Cochran Boulevard near US 41 Saturday afternoon. The 74-year-old pedestrian was riding a motorized tricycle when the crash happened, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The dump truck, driven by a 42-year-old Port Charlotte man, was going west on Cochran Boulevard, approaching a green traffic signal at the intersection. The pedestrian was riding south on the shoulder of US 41. Troopers said he tried to make a right turn onto southbound Cochran Boulevard. The dump truck then hit the pedestrian....
